George Bischof
Managing Director
George Bischof joined Meritech as a Managing Director in 2008 and focuses primarily on software, enterprise infrastructure, digital media, and technology-enabled services companies. George has led or oversees the firm's investments in BigFix, Box.net, ExtraHop, Fusion-io, Model N, Springsource and Vantage Oncology.
Prior to Meritech, George spent eight years as a General Partner with Focus Ventures where his investments included: Crossbeam Systems, EqualLogic, Extricity, G-Log, Isilon Systems, QuinStreet and Wily Technology.
Previously, George worked in Robertson Stephens’ technology investment banking group for nine years where he led portions of the firm’s eCommerce, software, and hardware/systems banking practices. George helped more than 60 companies raise over $4.5 billion in public equity offerings and private placement transactions. Notable clients included: BEA Systems, Bindview, Broadvision, Concur Technologies, Epiphany, Genesys Labs, i2 Technologies, JD Edwards, Peregrine Systems, Portal Software, QAD and Siebel Systems.
George holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
