George Bischof

Prior to Meritech, George spent eight years as a General Partner with Focus Ventures where his investments included Barracuda Networks (CUDA, acquired by Thoma Bravo), EqualLogic (acquired by Dell), Extricity (acquired by Peregrine), G-Log (acquired by Oracle), Isilon Systems (ISLN, acquired by EMC), QuinStreet (QNST) and Wily Technology (acquired by CA Technologies).

Previously, George worked in Robertson Stephens’ technology investment banking group for nine years where he led portions of the firm’s software, B2B e-commerce and hardware / systems banking practices. George helped more than 60 companies raise over $4.5B in public equity offerings and private placement transactions. Notable clients included BEA Systems, Bindview, Broadvision, Concur Technologies, Epiphany, Genesys Labs, i2 Technologies, JD Edwards, Peregrine Systems, Portal Software, QAD and Siebel Systems. George has been named to the Forbes 'Midas List' multiple times.

George holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He enjoys spending time with his family and can often be found on the weekends trying to keep up with his kids on various slopes, trails, courts, and playing fields. George is on the Board of Eastside College Preparatory School, a school founded by his brother for first generation college bound students.
